Howdie, which aircraft is that? Martin? Convair? Interesting.

Convair CV-240 your pretty good with knowing your aircraft. Working on getting a North Central paint put on the ole craft. Can you believe the aircraft in the photo(s) actually flys and handles like a dream. Smokes and squeaks alittle though.

What a rust bucket FMC! I too like to compose a good image but mostly in flight with the scenery. That one is top shelf! An old babe with paint peeling to the primer/skin sitting behind an old rusty tin roofed building. An excellent image that stirs all sorts of thoughts about its past. I like it!

Now that plane would haul butt if you replaced the props with the ones from the Howard 500.

4303, you got to see the B747-800i I just finished painting for you know who! There are some changes from the original that you have to get out the magnifying glass to see. But sharp as a tack.

Derf nice to you got something out here, way to go WooHoo!.

You know Griz I had pretty much the same thoughts as you, when I deceided to do that paint. I sure a few people here went back to a place and time. ( depends on how old they are in the 1st place) I really appreciate your comment.

Okay here is a turbo prop version. Can you see the two problems here? Question, how did you get aluminum to rust?

Avatar

The 2 problems I see is, 1st the flag is reversed, and 2nd isn't the plane upside down for the engine.

Aluminium does not rust however it will oxidize. (I knew what you meant, lol) There is a few good ways to do this one being import some more brushes into your palette that consist of splatter patterns, and 2nd there are various tools such as a dodge, blur blend, gradient that also work splatter around into fields of rust.

This will be done by creating a new layer. I haven't done this effect yet, but I have expiremented with these tools already and have used some already on the paints I've did. With really nice results
